Privacy Policy — Light Of Hope

This Privacy Policy explains how the Charitable Organization "Light of Hope" ("we", "the Organization") collects, uses, stores and protects the personal data of users of the "Light Of Hope" mobile application ("the App").

The App helps users take HIV risk screenings and surveys, order an HIV test, access social and medical services, and read informational materials. By using the App you agree to this Policy.

The data controller is the Charitable Organization "Light of Hope" (Ukraine).

• Account and contact data: phone number and/or email address; when signing in with Google — the name and email of your Google account.
• Profile: first name, last name, patronymic, date of birth, gender, city and region, social statuses/categories (optional).
• Health data (sensitive data): answers to HIV risk screenings and surveys, the fact and results of ordering an HIV test, and self-test results you choose to report.
• Usage data: screening history, service applications, points earned and spent, support requests.
• Technical data: interface language, session identifiers, service logs used for security and diagnostics.

We do not collect precise device location; you enter your city and region yourself.

• providing App features: account creation, authentication, completing screenings;
• generating personal recommendations for testing and services;
• arranging HIV test orders, accompaniment, and access to social and medical services;
• calculating and tracking points and rewards;
• user support and responding to requests;
• ensuring security, preventing abuse, and complying with legal requirements;
• anonymized statistics and program reporting (without identifying individuals).

We process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give during registration and when you start using the App, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection". Health data is processed solely on your separate consent for the purpose of receiving social and medical services.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (see "Your rights"). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties for advertising. Data may be shared only with:

• partner medical facilities and social services — strictly to the extent needed to provide the service you selected (e.g. test delivery, booking a consultation);
• IT service providers (hosting, SMS and email delivery, push notifications) — acting as processors on our instructions and under confidentiality terms;
• public authorities — where explicitly required by law.

Google sign-in is handled by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Personal data is kept while your account is active or for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy. After account deletion, personal data is removed, while anonymized statistics may be retained with no link to you. Certain technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and audit purposes.

You have the right to: be informed about the processing of your data, receive a copy of it, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion and withdraw consent, and request restriction of processing.

Deleting your account and data: in the App open "Profile" → "Delete account". More details on the Delete account page. If you cannot access the App, email y.serduk@lightofhope.com.ua.

We apply organizational and technical safeguards: encryption of data in transit (HTTPS), least-privilege access controls, access logging and regular system updates. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The App is intended for people aged 16 and older. If you believe a minor’s data was provided without a legal guardian’s consent, contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this address, and the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. We will notify you of material changes in the App.
